Mixed Media: acrylic paint, ink and pen, collage on Canvas 8 x 8 x 1.5 Sold
This plan stopped me in my tracks on our visit to Cape Sounion. Acorns? on a holly plant? Turns out, those spiky leaves start out with smooth edges, and turn spiky in response to predation. It really is a type of oak, found around the Mediterranean.
"Holm Oak" is a vibrant mixed-media piece characterized by bold colors and various patterns. It features elements of collage including Greek stamps and text in the background, incorporating shades of orange, purple, and yellow. Overlaid on this colorful backdrop are illustrations of spiky green leaves with prominent white veins, and branches that extend across the composition. Additionally, there are contrasting black and yellow diagonally stripes across one corner of the piece. The overall effect is one of dynamic contrast, both in color and texture, creating a visually stimulating image.
