Many people in my state grow these in their gardens, but finding them in the wild is a special treat. It's our state flower, and it can appear in several shades.
"Columbines" features a stylized rendering of Colorado state flowers, with vibrant purple and white petals and prominent yellow and white details at their centers. The flowers are depicted with a loose, illustrative style, using outlines and blocks of color that give them a somewhat flat, graphic appearance. The leaves and stems are rendered on book pages, painted in shades of green, with a touch of realism in their veined textures. The background transitions from a sunny yellow at the bottom to a pale green at the top, enhancing the cheerful and bright aesthetic of the piece. The artwork exudes a sense of playfulness and simplicity in its execution.
