Mixed Media: acrylic paint, ink and pen, collage on Canvas 6 x 6 x 1.5 Available
$110.00 USD
The image features a creative mixed-media piece of artwork that superimposes a painted illustration of a flowering yucca plant over a vintage New Mexico state map. The plant has a cluster of long, slender green leaves that radiate outward from a central point near the bottom of the image. Emerging from the center of these leaves is a tall, thin stem topped with a series of red and white flowers. These flowers are arranged in a linear fashion along the stem, and their detailed petal and leaf structures are outlined in black, giving them a defined and stylized appearance.
The background map adds a layer of complexity to the artwork, showing New Mexico regions, roads, and place names. The colors of the map are somewhat muted, allowing the vibrant greens and reds of the plant illustration to stand out prominently. The juxtaposition of the organic subject matter with the geometric and informational map creates a visually intriguing contrast.
This 6x6 mixed media collage is part of a state flower series. The yucca is the New Mexico State Flower. Made uniquely to order. Also available as prints.
